Running back options are plentiful for the Gators in the 2024 recruiting class.
After stacking two commitments in Chauncey Bowens and Kahnen Daniels before mid-April, Florida received more ball-carrier-related news on Friday as Salem (Va.) product Peyton Lewis included UF among his top six schools.
Lewis also labeled Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina and Tennessee as remaining contenders.

Lewis is the nation's No. 206 overall recruit and No. 14 running back in the cycle per 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He accounted for 1,560 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior, earning Class 4 all-state first-team honors as a running back and kick returner and second-team honors as a punt returner.
Possessing impressive long speed with verified track times — clocking a 10.50 in the 100-meter and a 6.34 in the 50-meter this track season — Lewis could present a viable complement to the duo of pledges the Gators already hold, pairing well with Bowens' bruising style and Daniels' short-area elusiveness.

After landing just one RB in the 2023 class, Treyaun Webb, the Gators are looking to replenish the backfield with up to three pieces in 2024.
Only a select few are in a position to round out the running back class in that regard, however, and Lewis is in line to be one of those choices if they elect to take that route.
However, the Gators have yet to host the Virginia-area prospect thus far.
Position coach Jabbar Juluke and Co. have also expressed a desire to potentially fill the void via the portal with a multi-year transfer talent. Houston's Alton McCaskill, who officially visited Gainesville on May 5, is a target to accomplish that endeavor.
