Cardinal Newman (West Palm Beach, Fla.) 2025 wideout prospect Naeshaun Montgomery released his top 10 schools list on Sunday afternoon.

The nation’s No. 64 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite, included the Florida Gators alongside Florida State Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee as the programs moving forward in contention for his services.

Montgomery, a four-star prospect who produces as a high-level route runner and separator, has visited the University of Florida on three occasions in 2023, including most recently for Florida’s victory over Tennessee.

Building a strong rapport with the coaching staff since his April 1 offer, Montgomery has quickly assumed a top spot on Florida’s positional board.

The Gators have made it a point to equip the wide receiver room with variety since Billy Napier took over as the program’s leader in December 2021, bringing a mixture of height, length, shiftiness and speed in the form of Caleb Douglas, Eugene Wilson III, Andy Jean and Aidan Mizell in the 2022 and 2023 classes.

Florida holds three commits in the 2024 class — Jerrae Hawkins, Izaiah Williams and Tawaski Abrams. The group notably lacks an effective X-type receiver in terms of stature.

As a result, the 2025 wide receiver recruiting efforts will likely be geared toward acquiring long, imposing prospects like the 6-foot-3, 175-pound Montgomery in an attempt to maintain the desired variance at the position.
