2024 four-star guard Jaeden Mustaf announces commitment to Georgia Tech

Mustaf is one of the top players in the country

Damon Stoudamire has just landed his first big-time recruit as the head coach of Georgia Tech.

Today, Jaeden Mustaf, who plays at Overtime Elite in Atlanta (GA), committed to the Yellow Jackets today over his other finalists Florida State, Maryland, Indiana, NC State, and Arkansas. Mustaf took an official visit to Georgia Tech back in the summer and Stoudamire and his staff, particularly assistant coach Karl Hobbs, did a tremendous job in bringing a top talent to Georgia Tech.

Mustaf is a 6'4 205 LBS combo guard and he is ranked as the No. 39 player in the country on 247Sports, the No. 5 combo guard in the country, and the No. 5 player in the state of Georgia. His other offers included Georgetown, Iowa, Pitt, Rutgers, Texas A&M, Virginia, West Virginia, Miami, and Virginia Tech, among others.

According to 247Sports, Mustaf is among the 10 highest-rated players to ever commit to Georgia Tech.

This is a huge win for Stoudamire. The state of Georgia has some of the top basketball talent in the country and for the Yellow Jackets to return to prominence, getting players like Mustaf is a must. With his commitment, Georgia Tech moves up to 27th in the country and 7th in the ACC in the 2024 recruiting rankings on 247Sports.

When he was first hired, Stoudamire talked about the importance of recruiting at Georgia Tech:

No.1, this is a relationship business and I have great relationships and I am dialed in and in tune to what it takes to be successful at this. So obviously, you know you have this Atlanta Metropolitan area, but you also have the rest of the country and me and the staff that I put together are going to beat the pavement to do the best we can to find the best student-athletes for here but we have a major major hub here in Atlanta and I don't think it has been tapped into the way it could be tapped into."

So far so good for the first-year head coach of the program.
