Updated ACC Basketball Standings (1/7)

Who is leading the ACC heading into this week?

There were big games in the ACC this week and some movement in the standings.

Clemson, which was 11-1 going into the week, lost two games this past week and it raised questions about whether the Tigers are a serious contender in the ACC.

Miami beat Clemson, but they lost on Saturday to the hottest team in the conference. Wake Forest has won nine games in a row and has started ACC play 3-0. The Demon Deacons are a possible tournament team that people are just starting to pay attention to.

North Carolina and NC State are also 3-0 in ACC play and looking like contenders. I think North Carolina looks like the best team in the conference in the early going.

Duke and Florida State have bot won two in a row and the Blue Devils are starting to play better after a 5-3 start to the season.

Virginia is 2-2 to start ACC play, but then there is a host of 1-2 teams.

Boston College, Clemson, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech are all 1-2. Clemson and Virginia Tech were thought to be possible contenders, but have gotten off to a rough start. After beating Duke to open ACC play, Georgia Tech has dropped games to Florida State and Boston College.

Pitt and Notre Dame are 1-3, while Louisville is winless in ACC play. Notre Dame faces Georgia Tech on Tuesday night.
