Georgia Tech Gets Prediction to Land 2025 Quarterback

Georgia Tech is still looking for its first commitment in the 2025 class

Georgia Tech is still searching for its first commitment in its 2025 class, but it is possible that they are close to doing that.

Just recently, Georgia Tech received a 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction from analyst Bryce Koon to land three-star quarterback Quentin Murphy and the confidence score given to the pick was a 7 out of 10. Murphy is a very athletic quarterback who received an offer from the Yellow Jackets coaching staff in January and he visited the Flats on the last weekend of January.

According to the 24Sports Composite, Murphy (6'1, 205 LBS) is the No. 416 player in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Arkansas. He plays at Parkview Magnet High School in Little Rock, AR and also has offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin, among others.

Now it should be noted that just because a player gets a crystal ball prediction to land at a school, does not mean that it happens. It appears that things could be trending in Georgia Tech's favor, but things have to actually get there first.

Getting a quarterback in a recruiting class (and getting him early) is huge. Quarterbacks are oftentimes the ambassadors of the class and can help attract other players who want to play with them. Murphy is very talented and would give Georgia Tech another athletic quarterback to run the offense. Haynes King was one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the ACC last season and operated Buster Faulkner's offense very well.

Georgia Tech has been making the finalists list for several of their 2025 targets.

Justin Hasenhuetl, who plays at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Georgia, listed his top ten schools yesterday and the in-state Yellow Jackets made the cut. Georgia Tech has found success recruiting prospects from Rabun Gap as they signed wide receiver Trey Horne in the 2024 class and Horne was one of the top prospects in the Yellow Jackets 2024 class. Georgia Tech is also pursuing Rabun Gap four-star tight end Marshall Pritchett.

According to 247Sports, Hasenhuetl is a four-star prospect, the No. 100 prospect in the nation, the No. 4 IOL, and the No. 14 player in the state of Georgia. The other schools in his top ten include Clemson, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan, Florida State, USC, Arkansas, and Miami.

Yesterday, Georgia Tech also made the cut for 2025 edge Taeshawn Alston.

The other schools in Alston's top six are South Carolina, Rutgers, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Per the 247Sports Composite, Alston is rated as a three-star player, the No. 427 player in the country, the No. 31 edge, and the No. 10 player in the state of North Carolina.

Earlier this week, Georgia Tech made the cut for four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr.

The other schools in Smith's top eight include Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Smith Jr is a four-star prospect, the No. 196 player in the country, the No. 25 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 27 player in the state of Georgia.
