Georgia Tech Makes the Cut for Three-Star Running Back Girard Pringle Jr

Pringle is a running back target for the Yellow Jackets in the 2025 class

Georgia Tech is still looking for its first commitment of the 2025 class, but they are in the running for several intriguing prospects. One of those prospects is three-star running back Girard Pringle Jr, who plays at Armwood High School in Florida, and he released his top eight schools late last night and the Yellow Jackets were among them.

The other schools in his top eight include Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Boston College, Miami, Alabama, and Louisville. According to the 247Sports Composite, Pringle is a three-star prospect, the No. 656 prospect in the country, the No. 52 running back, and the No. 96 player in the state of Florida. His other offers include Missouri, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Ole Miss, and Washington, among others.

Georgia Tech has been making the cut for a number of prospects and last week, four-cornerback Chris McCorkle had Georgia Tech in his top 12.

The other schools in McCorkle's top 12 include Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi State, UCF, and West Virginia.

McCorkle, who plays at Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida, is a four-star cornerback according to 247Sports, ranking as the No. 247 player in the country, No. 27 corner in the country, and No. 29 player in the state of Florida. It would be huge for new defensive backs coach Cory Peoples to go into the state of Florida and pull a talented player like McCorkle and it will be an interesting recruitment to follow now that he has dropped his top 12.

Since he decomitted from Georgia, Georgia Tech has been pursuing four-star cornerback Tae Harris and had him on campus for visits. Today, it was announced that Harris is going to be taking an official visit to Georgia Tech in June. He will be at Clemson the first week of June and at Georgia Tech the following week.

On the 247Sports Composite, Harris is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 224 prospect in the country, the No. 26 cornerback, and the No. 29 prospect in the state of Georgia. He plays at Cedartown High School in Georgia and also has offers from Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and UCF, among others.

Key and his staff are going to hope to put together a strong 2025 class to follow up the strong finish they had to their 2024 class. Getting a talented player like Harris would be a heck of a start.
