Georgia Tech's week in recruiting was highlighted by another commitment

Brent Key and Georgia Tech have been doing work on the recruiting trail, even with spring football going on. The Yellow Jackets have been hosting visitors throughout the spring and are trying to work to land a good 2024 recruiting class.

Let's recap the past week in Georgia Tech recruiting, which was highlighted by a commitment No. 5 for the class.

1. Georgia Tech gets commitment 2024 LB Demontrae Gaston (Pensacola, FL)

The big news of the week for Georgia Tech was the commitment of three-star linebacker Demontrae Gaston.

Gaston is rated a three-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the 686th prospect in the country and the 66th linebacker.

Gaston (6'1, 200 LBS) also had offers from Wake Forest, Tulane, Memphis, and FAU, among others.

2. Four-Star Wide Receiver Amari Jefferson Has Georgia Tech in his top 12

Amari Jefferson (Chattanooga, TN) is a four-star receiver on the 247Sports Composite and he dropped his top 12 this week and it had Georgia Tech included.

Some of the top schools in the country are in the mix for Jefferson so it will be a tough recruitment for GT in this one.

3. Three-star safety Jakob Gude has Georgia Tech in his top 10

Jakob Gude is one of the most underrated safeties in the country and in the state of Georgia and he is being pursued by some of the top schools in the country. He dropped his top ten this week and the Yellow Jackets were among the schools. He did visit Tech in January for their Junior day and is one of the top targets on the board.

4. Four-star defensive end Jeremiah Beaman among weekend visitors for Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech had a busy weekend of visitors from the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes this weekend. The biggest visitor was four-star defensive end Jeremiah Beaman (Birmingham, AL). Beaman is a top-100 player in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 95 player in the country. He holds offers from schools like Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Tennessee, among others.

5. A pair of three-star players set visits to Georgia Tech for the upcoming weekend.

Three-star lineman Kahlil House and three-star wide receiver Mekhai White are going to be visiting Georgia Tech this weekend. White has been picking up offers from schools such as UGA, Michigan, and other big-time programs and has logged some predictions to land with the Wolverines. These visit could be huge for Georgia Tech.

6. Five-star defensive lineman David Stone hints at a possible Georgia Tech visit

Georgia Tech offered five-star defensive lineman David Stone back in January and he has a good relationship with current Yellow Jackets defensive line coach Marco Coleman, who was at Michigan State as the defensive line coach last season. Stone tweeted yesterday and it could mean he is considering a visit to The Flats.

7. Four-star tight end Caleb Odom (Carrolton, GA) lists Georgia Tech in his top 12

Another top 12 was dropped yesterday that included Tech among the final 12 schools. This time it was from four-star tight end Caleb Odom, who hails from the state of Georgia.

The 2024 class for Georgia Tech is headlined by four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams has been the building block for Key in this class and is going to be the quarterback of the future for the Yellow Jackets.
