The Gonzaga women's basketball team finished the regular season undefeated at home, and the Bulldogs will have a chance to put that record to the test when they take on UC Irvine at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Friday in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Women's Tournament.

Gonzaga (30-3) earned a No. 5 seed in this year's tournament following a heartbreaking 67-66 loss against Portland in the WCC Tournament championship. It was just the third defeat of the season for the Zags, and their first loss since falling to then No. 20 Louisville all the way back in November.
With five players averaging double-digit scoring numbers, Gonzaga is the top-scoring team in the WCC and the No. 10 offensive team in the NCAA.

UC Irvine (23-8) landed an automatic bid and a No. 13 seed in the tournament after riding a season-long six-game win streak to its second conference tournament title in program history and first since 1995.
The Anteaters only have two players averaging double figures, but they boast one of the best defensive teams in the country allowing just 55 ppg, good for 11th best in all of NCAA women's college basketball.
The winner of this game will advance to a second-round matchup with the winner of (5) Utah vs. (12) South Dakota State at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Monday, March 25.
