According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO, “Week #14 is a pivotal stretch for so many teams and they did not disappoint throughout the week. With only two weeks remaining for the CIAA Regular Season Conference Championship and CIAA Tournament Championships, Lincoln University (PA) still sits at the top in the Northern Division of the CIAA and first place. Fayetteville State University is still currently in first place in the Southern Division of the CIAA.
There are also two weeks remaining for the SIAC Regular Season Conference Championship and SIAC Tournament Championships. Clark Atlanta (20-3) is the hottest team in the SIAC and has a 12-game winning streak and (12-3) in league play. Morehouse College (16-7) is tied for first in the SIAC East Division (13-3).
Miles College (17-5) is playing some great basketball and holding on in the West Division (12-4) with a six-game winning streak. Southern University (15-9) has a six-game winning streak and is in first place in the SWAC at (9-2). Grambling State (8-3) is in second place and sits one game back. The MEAC is still in a two-way battle at the top with Norfolk State
University (5-2) and North Carolina Central University (5-2) in league play. The HBCU All-Stars Tour continued in Las Vegas during Super Bowl Weekend, and I attended numerous NFL and HBCU events, and did some outstanding promotions and marketing for the third annual HBCU All-Star Game at Grand Canyon University.”
HBCU All-Stars LLC will honor the illustrious playing careers of Alvin Attles, Jr., North Carolina A&T State University (CIAA), John Chaney, Bethune-Cookman University (SIAC), Leonard Eugene “Truck” Robinson, Tennessee State University (Independent), Robert Earl “Bob” Love, Southern University (SWAC), Zelmo “Big Z” Beaty, Prairie View A&M University (SWAC).
Each of these amazing HBCU legends made their mark in this great game of basketball and reached the highest level of success in the NBA. We will recognize their impact on our HBCU basketball culture during the 2023-24 basketball season and host the third annual HBCU All-Star Game at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.
The HBCU All-Star Game is far more than a basketball game. HBCU All-Stars LLC will stage the HBCU All-Star Game Experience, a week-long festival that will kick off Tuesday, April 2, and conclude the following Tuesday after the Championship game, April 9.
It will celebrate the HBCU Experience and will be highlighted by an HBCU All-Stars College Admissions Fair, Community Outreach and Engagement, Pro Day Combine, Welcome Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Social Justice & Civil Rights panel discussion.
The HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
