Jawarn Howell, South Carolina State, RB, Freshman

A true freshman, Howell rushed for 283 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries, leading South Carolina State to a 27-24 victory over Howard. He scored three touchdowns, including two long runs of 48 and 85 yards, respectively, and achieved ten first downs. In his last three games, Howell has rushed for 528 yards and seven TDs, averaging 10.8 yards per carry.

FedEx Ground FCS National Defensive Player of the Week

Keenan Leachman, Alcorn State, FS - Graduate

Leachman, a graduate transfer, had three takeaways in Week 10 at home versus the Jaguars. Two of his forced turnovers set up the Braves offense for scores as Alcorn State defeated Southern 44-21 in a SWAC West Division showdown. He turned a strip sack into a 27-yard fumble return for a touchdown and scored on an 88-yard pick-six. The Braves defender had another interception and was involved in three tackles, two being solo.
