HBCU Football Schedule, How To Watch | Week 4

HOUSTON — Saturday in HBCU football will be a great day for fans to hang out in the stands or couch potatoes and armchair quarterbacks to feast on a thrilling schedule of games hosted by HBCU GO, The Grio, or ESPN+. Week 4's slate of games will have conference implications for several teams.
SWAC WEEK-4 PREVIEW
In the SWAC, four teams will square off where the losers could find difficulty staying in the divisional race. First, Texas Southern — without Andrew Body once again — will motor north through Texas, then east to Grambling, LA, for a crucial SWAC West showdown. The G-Men's offense, led by the conference's No. 3 passer, Myles Crawley, presents another challenge for the TSU Tigers defense. Last season, Coach Clarence McKinney's team soundly defeated Hue Jackson's squad 41-7 in Houston. Grambling is a better team this year and poses a threat from defensive end Sundiata Anderson and Keyshawn Johnson. Texas Southern is in a must-win situation and cannot afford to go down 0-2 in the SWAC West.
Florida A&M Rattlers could make their SWAC East title hopes easier by defeating the Alabama State at Bragg Memorial. Willie Simmons' Rattlers offense, with QB Jeremy Moussa at the helm, should be able to carve through a struggling Hornets defensive squad. Jackson State finally gets to make a home stand versus Bethune-Cookman.
However, the Prairie View at Alcorn tilt could decide the SWAC West winner. After last year's fourth-quarter collapse at home, the Panthers seek vengeance against the Braves and their brutal rushing attack with RB Jarveon Howard barreling downhill in Lorman.
MEAC WEEK-4 PREVIEW
The MEAC will not have any conference games in Week 4. NCCU controls the MEAC and will have a non-conference game at the Circle City Classic against Mississippi Valley State in Indianapolis, IN. Two intriguing contests pit Morgan State hosting Albany and the NSU Spartans facing off against Towson.
CIAA & SIAC WEEK-4 PREVIEW
The Fayetteville State at VA Union and Livingstone College at Virginia State are two significant league matchups in the CIAA to monitor. The SIAC slate aligns Lane at Tuskegee, Allen against Central State, and Savannah State versus Albany State as the contests that could have negative conference ramifications for the losers.
