HOUSTON - Southern University Jaguars will promote interim head coach Terrence Graves as the program's new head football coach.  Graves served under former head coach Eric Dooley as the team's assistant head coach, special teams coordinator, and linebackers coach.

As the interim head coach, Graves guided the Jaguars to a 27-22 victory over Grambling State in the 50th Annual Bayou Classic. He has the distinction of being 2-0 and the only coach to win the Bayou Classic of the Southern Jaguars and Grambling Tigers.

Southern University Athletics Department will hold a press conference on Dec 13 to announce the appointment of their 21st head football coach.

Graves has coaching experience on the staffs of Winston-Salem State, Norfolk State, and Mississippi Valley State. He was a collegiate defensive back at Wake Forest (1989) and Winston-Salem State (1990-92)
