BOXTOROW media members voted NCCU as the 2022 HBCU Football National Champions following winning the game. Quarterback Davius Richard (2 touchdowns) and running back Latrell "Mookie" Collier ( 1 touchdown) were the Eagles' offensive leaders as they denied the Tigers' bid for an undefeated season. The MEAC Champions outrushed JSU 276 rushing yards to 78 rushing yards to claim the Celebration Bowl title.
