Zales Designed 2023 Black College Football Hall of Fame Inductees Rings

Class of 2023 inductees of the Black College Football Hall of Fame received official rings from Zales, presented by Reggie Johnson, Chief Diversity Officer at Signet Jewelers. The ceremony was held at the Black College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia on June 10, 2023.
The illustrious Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023 included Leslie Frazier, Henry “Killer” Lawrence, Albert Lewis, Jim Marsalis, Tyrone McGriff, Elijah Pitts, Johnnie Walton, and Coach Pete Richardson.
Earlier this year, Zales announced that they have partnered with BCFHOF and have become the official jeweler responsible for creating the iconic rings for inductees during the HBCU Legacy Bowl. Signet Jewelers®, the parent company of Zales, has formed a partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame (PFHOF), which highlights their ongoing collaboration. Additionally, this partnership reinforces their commitment and support to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
This exquisite ring is crafted from 14k gold using the latest technology in the jewelry industry and the skill of expert jewelers. It boasts a striking navette-shaped black onyx that symbolizes a football. The black onyx stone is said to offer protection, increase stamina, and boost determination, all of which can aid in persevering through challenges.
The ring presented to the inductees has 60 sparkling diamonds weighing one and a half carats. One side of the ring carries the BCFHOF logo with the year the recipient is inducted. The other side pays homage to two of the most recognized symbols of football, a helmet, and a goal post, along with the inductee’s name and the years they were active. The inside is engraved in a script font with the inductee’s full name and the name of the college where they played.
