How to Watch Indiana Basketball Against No. 2 Purdue Saturday

Indiana continues the 2023-24 season on Saturday against the Purdue Boilermakers at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind. Here's how to watch, game time and TV information, the point spread and over/under, the coaching matchup, series history, predicted score, stats, rankings and more.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Indiana-Purdue rivalry will be renewed Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, this time at Mackey Arena. In the season's first matchup on Jan. 16, Purdue defeated Indiana 87-66 in Bloomington. 

Coach Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers are coming off a 76-73 win at Ohio State on Tuesday, when they overcame an 18-point second-half deficit. On the other side, the Boilermakers had a week to prepare for Indiana after their 75-69 win at Wisconsin on Feb. 4.

The Hoosiers earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament and defeated Kent State before losing to No. 5 seed Miami in the Round of 32. Purdue went 29-6 overall and won the Big Ten regular season title with a 15-5 record. The Boilermakers won the Big Ten Tournament, then lost in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 as a No. 1 seed to No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson, 63-58.

Zach Edey led the Boilermakers with 33 points and 14 rebounds, followed by 19 points from Fletcher Loyer and 17 from Lance Jones. Trey Galloway and Mackenzie Mgbako combined for 32 points, but Indiana's season-long scoring leaders Malik Reneau and Kel'el Ware combined for just 13 points.

Meet the coaches

  • Matt Painter, Purdue: Painter is in his 19th season at Purdue with a 434–200 overall record and a 219–122 run in Big Ten play. Painter is a four-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, four-time Big Ten regular season champion and three-time two-time Big Ten Tournament champion. Purdue has reached 14 NCAA Tournaments under Painter, including one Elite Eight run in 2019 and six trips to the Sweet 16. Painter played at Purdue from 1989-93, and the Fort Wayne native was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022.
  • Mike Woodson, Indiana: Woodson is in his third season at Indiana with a 58-35 overall record and a 27-25 mark in regular season Big Ten play. Woodson has NBA head coaching experience with the Atlanta Hawks from 2004-10 and the New York Knicks from 2012-14. Woodson played at Indiana University from 1976-80, and was named the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player as a senior under coach Bob Knight.
