VIDEO: 3 Things I Want To See From Indiana vs. North Alabama

Indiana looks to stay unbeaten on the season when it takes on North Alabama from the ASUN Conference on Tuesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The goal for Indiana in November is for its young team to gain confidence and victories against a less-than-threatening seven-game schedule.

That journey continues again on Tuesday when the 2-0 Hoosiers take on North Alabama, a team from Florence, Ala., that's in just its second year of Division I basketball.

Here are the particulars:

  • Who: North Alabama Lions (1-1) vs. Indiana Hoosiers (2-0)
  • When: 7 p.m. ET Tuesday
  • Where: Simon Skjodt Assemby Hall, Bloomington, Ind.
  • Line: Indiana is favored by 22.5 points
  • Kenpom.com rankings: Indiana 36, North Alabama 284 (out of 353 Division I teams)
  • TV: Big Ten Network
  • Announcers: Brandon Gaudin and Brian Burch
  • Radio: IU Radio Network
  • Announcers: Don Fischer, Errek Suhr, Joe Smith

The Hoosiers have opened the season with a 98-65 win over Western Illinois and a tighter 85-74 win over Portland State last Saturday.

North Alabama is 1-1, having lost by 22 points at South Carolina in its opener and then beating Carver College at home on Sunday. The Lions are coach by Tony Pujol, a former longtime assistant to Anthony Grant at VCU and Alabama.

The Hoosiers have four players averaging double figures through two games, with junior forward Justin Smith (20.0 ppg) and junior guard Al Durham (19.5 ppg) leading the way. Freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis and sophomore point guard Rob Phinisee are both averaging 10.5 points per game.

Here are three things I want to see from the Hoosiers Tuesday night, in VIDEO form:

Indiana plays again on Saturday against Troy. All four of the first four teams on the schedule are in the 274-298 range in the kenpom.com rankings.
