Indiana Men's Soccer Preseason Exhibition Schedule Guide: Times, Dates, Opponents

After losing in the national championship match last year, the Indiana men's soccer team enters the 2023 season ranked No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll. Prior to the regular season, Indiana will play three exhibition matches. The first is on Friday night in Bloomington, and the final two will be against recurring foes from last year's exhibitions.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The return of nighttime men's soccer matches in Bloomington is three days away.

Indiana's first of three exhibitions is at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday, and the preseason No. 2-ranked Hoosiers are right where they were two years ago, like the 2021 fall season — linearly ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll after their tight National Championship loss the season prior.

Perhaps, that'll put one giant and inviting target on Indiana's back for recurring exhibition foes such as Bowling Green and Louisville in the next two weeks. The fellow Midwest programs bested the Hoosiers in the preseason last year 1-0 and 3-1, respectively. Or, it could be the perfect redemption origin for 14th-year head coach Todd Yeagley and the eight-time national champion Hoosiers.

Over the next two weeks, HoosiersNow.com will provide coverage of Indiana’s exhibition matches and further storylines regarding the 2023 season.

Below is Indiana’s preseason schedule.

  • Friday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
    • Indiana vs. Wright State at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
    • Indiana vs. Bowling Green at Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield, Ind.
  • Friday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m.
    • Indiana vs. Louisville at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.

SEASON-OPENER: Thursday, Aug, 24 at 8 p.m. at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

None of the three exhibition games will be televised, though the Hoosiers will play at their home field, Bill Armstrong Stadium, twice with free admission for spectators. Last year, the team played its lone home exhibition match on the adjacent practice field, as the stadium field's surface required restoration. Thus, the move to the stadium this year should supply better visibility for those looking to attend.
