Doyle Named Preseason All-Big Ten

Iowa senior guard Kathleen Doyle was named to the preseason All-Big Ten women's basketball team on Monday.
Doyle was a unanimous selection on the coaches' team.
Doyle was a first-team all-conference selection by the coaches and a second-team pick by the media last season.
Doyle averaged 12 points and 5.9 assists last season for the Hawkeyes. She led the Big Ten in assists last season.
Maryland's Kaila Charles was named the conference's preseason player of the year.
Doyle, Charles, Michigan's Naz Hillmon and Northwestern's Lindsey Pulliam were unanimous selections to the coaches' team. Charles and Hillmon were unanimous selections on the media team.
The Hawkeyes, who won the Big Ten Tournament last season on the way to an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA tournament, were not among the top five in the conference preseason poll. Maryland, the defending regular-season champion, was voted the favorite. The rest of the top five were Michigan State, Indiana, Michigan and Purdue.
