David Abajian Has High Expectations For Kansas
Kansas has many signees from the 2024 recruiting class including David Abajian.
Abajian is an offensive lineman who played high school ball at Chaminade High School in West Hills, California. The 6-foot-5 285-pound prospect spoke with Blue Wings Rising recently.
“When I visited Kansas, I loved every part of it,” Abajian stated to Blue Wings Rising. “The city of Lawrence is great, and it’s a great change of scenery and lifestyle for me since I’ve only lived in big cities, Queens New York, and now Los Angeles. the direction Kansas football is going in is exciting, and Coach Leipold is making Kansas football great. the culture installed by the team and the atmosphere are great, and it's something I want to be a part of. the education part of Kansas is excellent, and I know that I will be getting a solid degree once I'm done with schooling.”
“People can expect someone who’s willing to work hard. I’m coming into Kansas with no expectations for anything to come easy, and I’m holding myself to a high standard and expecting nothing but greatness from myself. I don’t want to be good, I want to be great, and I’m willing to work hard for that.”
“I would like to bring players that are willing to work hard. I want players around me who have the same vision for Kansas football as I do, which is a program that can and will be great.”
He talked about the coaches who made his decision easier.
“Coach Ianello made my commitment to Kansas easier and helped me through flipping my commitment to Kansas. Coach Leipold and the way he leads the team made my decision a lot easier knowing how great of a coach he is. My relationship with the new OL coach, Coach A, isn’t the strongest as of now, but from the talks I’ve had with him, I can tell he will be a great coach for my development.”
“I’m expecting Kansas to be a great place for my development on and off the field. I expect the coaching staff to give it their all to us players, and this is already clearly seen. I expect a lot of big changes for Kansas Football, especially with the new coaching staff this upcoming season.”
