Could Kentucky run into a "Buzz" Saw in the SEC Tournament?

Kentucky could have a challenging first game in the SEC Tournament.

More than likely, the Kentucky Wildcats will open the 2024 SEC Tournament facing the #7 seed Texas A&M Aggies.

Texas A&M already got the best of the Wildcats earlier this season in College Station, beating Kentucky 97-92 in overtime. Antonio Reeves had 22 points in this game, but Wade Taylor IV had 31 points, leading the Aggies past the Wildcats.

The Aggies had an up-and-down SEC slate, but they did beat Kentucky and Tennessee, proving they can win big games. They finished SEC play 9-9, and Buzz Williams's team won their final three games. The Aggies are a bubble team so they likely feel a few wins in the SEC Tournament could help their resumé on Selection Sunday.

Early in the year, Texas A&M's offense wasn't flowing well because everything ran through Taylor IV and Tyrece "Boots" Radford. Now Manny Obaseki has stepped up, scoring in double figures in his last four games, including 25 points against Ole Miss on Saturday.

Kentucky is the better basketball team, and it isn't even a debate, but this Texas A&M team might have something going, and they are playing for their postseason hopes, which is never a good thing to play against.

Some Kentucky fans might not be all that concerned with this game, but Texas A&M has beaten Kentucky, and they always seem to play up to competition. They are 5-6 in Quad 1 games.

Kentucky should win this game but the key is keeping the Aggies off the offensive glass. The first time the two teams met, Texas A&M had 25 offensive rebounds. Hopefully, having all of their seven-footers on the floor will help Kentucky with this problem.

John Calipari needs to make sure his team doesn't look past the Aggies to either Alabama or Florida.
