Was the win over Tennessee the biggest of the year for Kentucky?

Check out the latest version of the Wildcats Today Podcast!

On today's episode of the Wildcats Today Podcast hosts Andrew Stefaniak and Carson Nash break down the Wildcat's massive 85-81 win over the Tennessee Volunteers.

The two decided this was the biggest win of the season for Kentucky because it gave this team a ton of confidence and helped the Wildcats secure the two seed in the SEC Tournament.

Reed Sheppard and Antonio Reeves were both incredible in this game, scoring 27 points apiece, and Justin Edwards had a good showing, scoring 16 points for John Calipari's squad.

Edwards and DJ Wagner heating up will help this Kentucky team make a deep run in both the SEC and NCAA Tournaments.

Kentucky will now prepare for the SEC Tournament, where they will face the winner of Texas A&M and Ole Miss on Friday at 7 pm et.

Here are our projections for Kentucky's time in Nashville

Thanks to Kentucky's big win over the Tennessee Volunteers, the Wildcats were able to lock down the #2 seed in the SEC Tournament.

This means the Wildcats will play the winner of #7 seed Texas A&M and #10 seed Ole Miss.

These two teams just played, and the Aggies of Texas A&M won this game 86-60 in Oxford, shooting 50% from the field and 50% from deep.

Kentucky will likely play Texas A&M, and the Wildcats lost to the Aggies in College Station earlier this year in overtime.

Both teams are playing well, but Kentucky should get this win and move to the semi-finals. If Kentucky is able to do this, they will likely play the winner of #6 Florida and #3 Alabama. For the Gators to play the Crimson Tide, they would have to beat the winner of the Missouri/Georgia game, which won't be too tough of an ask.

Florida and Alabama will be an interesting game as the Gators had been playing good basketball, but they lost to Vanderbilt on Saturday. Alabama is also not playing their best ball, so this could be anyone's game. Florida beat Alabama in Gainesville, and the Crimson Tide beat the Gators in Tuscaloosa. I feel like Alabama wins this game, but it could go either way.

Kentucky stomped Alabama in Rupp Arena and split with Florida on the season. I feel like the Wildcats will win their semifinal matchup game and make it to the SEC Championship.

I would much rather play Alabama or Florida in the semis than Auburn or Tennessee which is why Kentucky getting the two seed was so crucial.

If Kentucky is able to make the finals, they will likely face the Tennessee Volunteers or the Auburn Tigers. The Wildcats are 2-1 in matchups with these teams, but Auburn and Tennessee are both great teams.

I would rather play Auburn than Tennessee, but if Kentucky makes it to the SEC Championship game, they can beat either of these teams.

Kentucky is playing excellent basketball right now, and players like Justin Edwards and DJ Wagner playing well could help this team make a run in the SEC Tournament and then the NCAA Tournament.
