WATCH: Kentucky freshman DJ Wagner drains the three

Here comes DJ Wagner!

The Cats are boat racing the Marshall Thundering Herd, mostly thanks to freshman DJ Wagner.

In the first few games of the season, Wagner wasn't playing his best basketball, but you kept hearing from Coach John Calipari "just give him time".

Well, Big Blue Nation gave Wagner time, and now it is paying off as he has played back-to-back big games for the Cats, scoring 20+ in both contests.

With over 14 minutes left in this ball game, Wagner has 23 points, four assists, and a rebound. He also has a +/- of +24, which is great to see for the young freshman.

Wagner has been the primary ball handler in this basketball game and hasn't turned it over, which is really good to see, as this will be important late in the season.

His efficiency from the field has been excellent to see in this game as Wagner is 8-11 from the field in this game.

The 6'4 freshman guard could play himself into being a top-five pick if he continues to put up consistent numbers like this and take care of the basketball.

Kentucky will need Wagner to play like this against #10 Miami on Tuesday, so hopefully, his confidence continues growing.

Let's take a look at Wagner's three-pointer that added to Kentucky's big lead over the Marshall Thundering Herd.
