Five-star Kentucky signee had a message for Reed Sheppard after his game winner against Mississippi State

A new member of La Familia had a message for Reed Sheppard.

The Kentucky Wildcats got a big win in Starkville, Mississippi, thanks to a monster game from freshman star Reed Sheppard.

Sheppard had 32 points in the win while going 11-14 from the field and hitting a shot as time expired to give Kentucky the 91-89 victory over Mississippi State.

After the win, Kentucky 2024, five-star point guard signee Boogie Fland had a message for Sheppard on his Instagram.

Fland posted a picture of Sheppard on the TV with the caption saying, "You cold fr (for real)."

This is what makes Kentucky basketball so historic and special. While Fland is part of La Familia, he hasn't stepped foot on campus yet as a student or player, and he is rooting for the team.

Like Sheppard, Fland will be a special one-and-done player for the Kentucky Wildcats as he is a do-it-all guard. Fland can shoot the ball extremely well but is also a really good passer. This will have him in the first round of mock drafts for the 2025 NBA Draft.

Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports had this to say about Fland and his ability to shoot the ball, "Fland is a skilled guard whose biggest asset is his ability to shoot the basketball. Like few other players in high school basketball, he has an ability to heat up and start making tough shots from long-range. However, his willingness to settle for those tough shots, can impact his efficiency. The 30% he shot from behind the three-point line in EYBL came in direct correlation to his shot selection, since he’s undoubtedly a better shooter than those numbers indicate."

Like many players on the current Kentucky team, Fland will shoot the ball at a high percentage next season.
