The Kentucky Wildcats completely turned around their off-season after what was widely agreed to be a roughs start.

Kentucky lost Oscar Tshiebwe to the NBA Draft, a handful of players transferred out, and John Calipari just couldn't find anyone in the transfer in.

Then, the recruiting class, got stronger, the Wildcats returned Antonio Reeves, Tre Mitchell was added, and the team showed out during the GLOBL JAM without two of their projected starters.

A lot of Kentucky's turnaround has been thanks to John Calipari.

Coach Cal believes that he and his squad will be prepared for the postseason and ready to make a run for the first time in several years.

Will his coaching help get the young squad over the hump? According to SportsGrid's David Connelly, Cal not only primed to do it, but is still one of the best coaches in college basketball because of his past success.

Connelly ranked John Calipari No. 3 on his list of the top twenty coaches in college basketball for the 2023-24 season.

Here's what Connelly had to say about Coach Cal:

"Although it’s been a tough past few seasons for Kentucky, it’s undeniable how talented head coach John Calipari is. He is the undisputed king at producing NBA talent, with 47 players drafted into the association since taking over at Kentucky in 2009. The fans are understandably hungry for success in Lexington, but Calipari’s resume and ability to produce elite next-level talent cements him into the third spot on this list."

Here's the entire top 10:

1. Bill Self – Kansas (Record: 787-237; Last Season: 24-8)
