Kentucky moved up another spot in the AP Poll after taking down Louisville

The Cats continue to move up in the AP Poll.

We are in the part of the year for college basketball where it's hard to move one way or another in the AP Poll, as most teams are only playing one game per week.

The Cats played one game this week as they went on the road to play the Louisville Cardinals, where they won 95-76 in the KFC Yum! Center.

The new AP Poll came out on Christmas Day, and the Cats only moved up one spot from number nine to number eight.

Some felt the Cats should have moved up a few more spots, but personally, I am very happy to see this team in the top ten as SEC play is right around the corner.

After Kentucky plays Illinois State on the 29th, assuming they take care of business, the Cats will start SEC play with a tough stretch of three games that includes trips to Florida and Texas A&M.

If they win these two ball games and beat Missouri at home, there is no way this team in not top five in college hoops. With SEC play right around the corner, Kentucky will have a bunch of opportunities to boost their AP Poll ranking.
