NBA mock draft has Kentucky freshman Reed Sheppard slated as a lottery pick

A recent NBA mock draft had four Kentucky Wildcats going as lottery picks.

Two things that go hand in hand are Kentucky basketball and the NBA, as the Cats send so many players to the league.

A mock draft by David Connelly of Sports Grid had his top 25 picks for the upcoming NBA draft, and four Cats were in the top 15.

Let's take a look at where Connelly has Kentucky players going in his NBA mock draft.

4th Overall Justin Edwards

7th Overall DJ Wagner

8th Overall Aaron Bradshaw

14th Overall Reed Sheppard

Edwards, Wagner, and Bradshaw will more than likely be first-round picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, but seeing Sheppard's name here came as a bit of a shock.

I believe Sheppard has the talent to play at the next level, but I would not have guessed him to be listed as a lottery pick on this mock draft.

Nothing would make Kentucky fans happier than to see Reed Sheppard, the son of former Kentucky basketball player Jeff Sheppard, taken early in the NBA draft.

The freshman guard can shoot the lights out, and I expect the Kentucky kid to play a significant role for John Calipari's squad this season.
