Kentucky needs to use the matchup with Penn as a get right game

The Cats need to play well against Penn to be ready for North Carolina.

We are at the point in the season where there aren't all that many basketball games for the Kentucky Wildcats as they only play five in December.

Last Saturday, Kentucky lost to the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, which killed their NET rankings, seeding in Bracketology, and AP Poll ranking.

There is no way to make excuses for this loss, but it hurt the Cats badly. Kentucky had to sit with the taste of this loss in their mouth for a week now, which couldn't have been fun for this team.

Now, the Cats will head to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to take on the Penn Quakers in the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday.

Kentucky's next game will be in the CBS Sports Classic in Atlanta, which will be a big one for Kentucky before SEC play begins.

The Cats need to take all of the rage they have from the loss to UNC Wilmington out on the Quakers and win this game by a wide margin in the City of Brotherly Love.

If they do this, it will hopefully give the Cats a ton of confidence when they take on North Carolina in the Big A.

Now, it needs to be noted this Penn team can shoot the ball. They are shooting 41.5% as a team.

The Cats need to play well and defend the three-point line, but if they do these two things, they will win this ballgame big and feel good when they face the Tarheels next week.
