Kentucky basketball ranked 16th in CBS Sports preseason top 25

CBS Sports has the Cats ranked 16th preseason.

We are getting closer and closer to the start of the 2023-24 college basketball season, so we are starting to see some preseason rankings lists.

CBS Sports put out their preseason top 25 list, and they had the Kentucky Wildcats ranked 16th.

This has them fourth in the SEC behind Arkansas (11th), Tennessee (14th), and Texas A&M (15th).

Gary Parrish of CBS Sports had this to say about Kentucky in his blurb about the team, giving his reasoning for putting them 16th, "This ranking is based on the Wildcats enrolling the nation's top-ranked recruiting class featuring four five-star high school prospects - among them Justin Edwards, DJ Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw -- plus West Virginia graduate-transfer Tre Mitchell. Those newcomers will pair with Antonio Reeves and give John Calipari a decent chance to make the Final Four for the first time since 2015."

This is going to be a really fun basketball season where the Cats have a legit chance to return to glory and bring home another National Championship.

If the frontcourt gets healthy and the backcourt scores like we all think they will, this Cats team will be dangerous.

This Kentucky basketball team will be ranked in the top five sooner than later.
