Kentucky checks in at No. 6 in AP Poll

Kentucky climbed two spots in this week's edition of the AP Poll.

After a week in which they went 2-0, the Kentucky Wildcats climbed two spots in this week's edition of the AP Poll, improving from No. 8 to No. 6.

Kentucky beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 90-77 at home inside Rupp Arena on Wednesday night. The Wildcats were 6.5-point favorites and covered. 

Antonio Reeves led the Wildcats in scoring with 27 points. Rob Dillingham scored 16, Tre Mitchell scored 15 and Aaron Bradshaw scored 11.

Bradshaw also led the way in rebounds with six and Reed Sheppard led the Wildcats in assists with six. Kentucky shot 55.6% from the field and 30.4% from 3-point range.

Saturday's game was an exciting one as Kentucky beat the Georgia Bulldogs 105-96 at home. The Wildcats did not cover the 13.5-point spread. 

Mitchell led the team in scoring with 23 points, Reeves followed closely with 21. Zvonimir "Big Z" Ivisic made his season debut and scored 13 points.

Four different Wildcats each grabbed five rebounds and D.J. Wagner led the way in assists with 10. Kentucky shot 61.9% from the field and 56% from 3-point range.

Kentucky has two road contests this week. 

The Wildcats travel to Columbia, South Carolina first for a matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks tomorrow at Colonial Life Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and the broadcast can be found on SEC Network.

On Saturday, the Wildcats take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT and the broadcast can be found on ESPN.
