John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats were riding high after defeating Georgia last week in an incredible college debut for freshman Zvonimir Ivisic, but it only took one bad game against South Carolina for the momentum to come to a screeching halt.

The Wildcats, who were generating buzz as a potential top seed and championship contender, fell all the way to a No. 4 seed in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology Report for ESPN, where he projects them to play a first round game in Brooklyn against the 15-4 Akron Zips out of the MAC.

Kentucky had been a two seed prior to the South Carolina loss, and the 'Cats could easily push their way back into that conversation if they can put the Gamecocks game in the rearview mirror and work on improving on the defensive end of the floor, where they are having significant issues.

The SEC only has seven teams in the Field of 68 in Lunardi's latest report, a sign the league's cannibalism is having a negative impact on the conference as a whole. Tennessee (2) and Auburn (3) are both ahead of the Wildcats, and they are joined in this projected field by Alabama, also a four seed, along with Texas A&M (8), South Carolina (9), and Mississippi State (10).

However, while both Ole Miss and Florida were listed on the wrong side of the bubble, each could climb back into the conversation next week if they are able to secure victories on Saturday over A&M and Georgia, respectively.
