This Kentucky Wildcat was snubbed from the McDonald's All-American Game

This Kentucky Wildcat should have been a McDonald's All-American.

The Kentucky Wildcats have a stacked 2024 recruiting class.

Some of the players committed in the 2024 recruiting class, like Jayden Quaintance and Boogie Fland, were just picked to partake in the McDonald's All-American game. Another player Kentucky leads to land is Karter Knox who was also named to the McDonald's All-American Game. While these two signees and one potential new Wildcat were on the roster, one player was left off.

Five-star Kentucky commit Billy Richmond is ranked as the number 23 player in the 2024 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. Despite being ranked as one of the top players in the 2024 class, Richmond was not selected to partake in the McDonald's All-American Game. Richmond is one player who college basketball writers believe was an absolutely abysmal snub from this game. I have seen Richmond play live and can confidently say there is no world where he should not be playing in the McDonald's All-American Game.

Mike Swanson listed Richmond as one of the top ten snubs from the McDonald's All-American game and had this to say about him, "Richmond, a Tennessee native, keeps rising the recruiting rankings and is now in 247Sports' top 20 in the Class of 2024. He's averaging nearly 20 points a game this season and pooped a heck of a buzzer-beater earlier this month."

Being a snub from this game will leave a chip on the shoulder of Richmond that will just make him a better player for the Kentucky Wildcats. There is no doubt in my mind that Richmond will be a great player during his time in Lexington before moving on to the NBA.
