What did we learn from Kentucky's win over Georgia?

We learned these things from the Wildcats win over Georgia.

Kentucky is now 4-1 in SEC play after taking down the Georgia Bulldogs in Rupp Arena on Saturday 105-96.

The Wildcats lead was 28 points with less than ten minutes left in the game, but a late push from the Bulldogs made this game closer than it should have been and took the cover in Vegas away from Kentucky. But Kentucky got the win going 2-0 on the week heading into a week where they have two road games.

We learned a few things from this game, including that Kentucky has a star in Zvonimir Ivisic. Big Z had 13 points in this game with five boards, three blocks, two assists, and two steals. He did things in this game that no other player in all of college basketball could do. Having him back is a massive boost for this Kentucky team. We also learned that having more depth in the frontcourt makes Tre Mitchell better. Mitchell only had to play 28 minutes in this game, which isn't a lot for him. He was rested, which led to 23 points and five boards. Getting Mitchell back to his true power-forward position will make him and Kentucky better. Lastly, the defense was ugly in the last ten minutes of this game. All Kentucky fans know the defense needs to be better if Kentucky wants to make a deep run.

Coach Calipari was unhappy with the defense in the final stretch of the game and made it very clear if you aren't defending, "I won't play you."

There is a lot of room still to improve, but if this team hits its ceiling, the Kentucky Wildcats will hoist hardware at the end of the season.
