BJ Kissel is the co-founder and CEO of KC Sports Network (KCSN), a pioneering independent media brand in Kansas City. A former college pitcher for Kansas State (2004-06) and the University of Central Missouri (2003 Division II National Champions), Kissel began his media career as an unpaid Chiefs blogger back in 2009, eventually rising to become the official team reporter for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2014 to 2020. During his tenure as team's official reporter, he earned seven Mid-America Emmy Awards, launched the teams podcast network and covered the team’s historic victory in Super Bowl LIV. In 2021, he launched KCSN to modernize local sports coverage. Under his leadership, the network has become the go-to digital destination for Kansas City sports fans from high school to the professional ranks. Beyond digital growth, Kissel remains committed to community impact through the KCSN Foundation, which has raised and donated over $200,000 for local Kansas City charities and programs.
