Meet your Wildcat Standout: Harry Trotter, RB, Junior
For me, the biggest surprise in Saturdays 49-14 win over Nichols State was the emergence of junior transfer Harry Trotter who rushed the ball 10 times for 50 yards and a touchdown.
It was not surprised that the Wildcats pounded the football up and down the field in their first game under new head coach Chris Klieman.
What was surprising is that the transfer student from Atchinson, KS who is now playing for his 3rd college football programs was among the highly productive rotation.
Trotter was the opposite of highly recruited out of high school. He ended up playing one season at Fort Scott CC where he was mediocre at best averaging just over 3 yards per carry.
He transferred to Louisville where he was used even less and was less effective.
Trotter transferred to KSU and sat out the 2018 season in compliance with NCAA rules. And now, he begins the 2019 season as a Junior two time transfer with something to prove.
Taking carries away from highly touted transfer James Gilbert, Jordan Brown and Tyler Burns, averaging 5 yards per carry, and scoring a touchdown in his first game (the first touchdown of Coach Klieman's KSU career)? I'd say Trotter is well on his way to making the most of this opportunity.
