Tyler Mitchell, Senior, Guard

We've talked at length about the the offensive line - will Mitchell be the unsung hero?

Tyler Mitchell didn't come to Kansas State with much fanfare. Mitchell left high school as a two start recruit who wasn't ranked in the top 120 nationally at his position.

But, when you look at his film you see some raw talent that can definitely translate in to being a solid contributor on the offensive line.

Since getting to Manhattan - Mitchell has put on 40lbs of muscle and now has the build and makeup of an NFL offensive linemen: 6'5", 320lbs.

KState says that in 2018: Started 11 games, opening up at left guard the first four games of the season before moving to right tackle the next seven contests... Helped the Wildcats finish third in the Big 12 by averaging 182.6 rushing yards per game, which included a 184.2-yard average in conference games to rank second... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree."

In high school, Mitchell "Played at Montgomery Academy under head coach Anthony McCall... Helped lead the Eagles to a 12-1 record and a trip to the quarterfinals of the Alabama 3A playoffs in 2014... Team also reached the state quarterfinals and went 11-2 in 2013... Earned first team all-state honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior... An all-area pick in 2013 and by AL.com... Earned the team’s most improved offensive player and most valuable lineman awards... Also played baseball."
