Meet your 2019 Recruit: Matthew Pola-Mao, DT, Arizona

We continue our day by day break down of incoming class of 2019 Wildcat commitments with three star defensive tackel Mattew Pola-Mao from Chandler, Arizona.
Pola-Mao is a massive person, a 6'2", 300lb brick wall in the middle of the defense. You can see on tape how quick he is to get penetration, but more importantly in this defense how difficult he is to move of the line of scrimmage.
This was a good get for Wildcat Defensive Line Coach Mike Tuiasosopo, who served as the primary recruiting for the run-stuffer. Pola-Mao was also considering in state schools Arizona and Arizona State, along with BYU and Illinois, before Kansas State locked down the commitment in late January.
The Chandler High School product likely redshirts his freshman year, but do not underestimate his ability to win a spot in the top four rotation for the defensive tackle spots in the Wildcat rotation. I don't think that three of the four players currently on the depth chart are locks to make that rotation, so Trey Dishon's spot is the only lock in my book. Admittedly, Jordan Mittie also likely starts - but the backup spots are wide open.
