Meet your 2019 Recruit: Tyrone Lewis, Safety, Louisiana

Kansas State fans should be excited for what Tyrone Lewis will bring to the table in Manhattan. A native of Hammond High School in Hammond, Louisiana, Lewis is an explosive athlete whose film make it seem as if he's always around the ball.
The three star Safety spent time there and at Cornerback in high school. Ultimately, he was recruited as a Safety due to his ability to play in side the box and bring some pressure and hard-hittingness to the secondary.
In addition to being a willing tackler; Lewis also displays incredible speed - posting a verified 4.51 40-yard dash.
Lewis was heavily recruited by Arkansas, so for Kansas State to win the recruiting battle when the SEC was involved is a huge victory for Coach Klieman and Kansas State. Lewis was also recruited by Iowa State, Utah State and a few non-Power Five schools.
It seemed as though Lewis was heading to Arkansas or Iowa State when the signing period neared. On December 15th, right after he was hired, Coach Klieman visited the young speedster, and that gave Lewis cause for pause. He waited another month and did not commit to Kansas State until mid-January.
To sustain himself in at the Safety position, Lewis will be best serve adding a little bulk to his frame. This will allow him to battle Tight Ends better and to shed off fullback blockers when playing in the box.
Lewis should work himself in to a nice role-player for the Cats. The secondary field is deep - he'll have to continue being a willing tackler, and willing to grow in terms of bulk/muscle, to ensure himself consistent playing time at the next level.
