William Jones starred at Mansfield Summit High School at CB, as a returner, and at RB - he'll line up at CB for your Wildcats.

Meet your 2019 Recruit: William Jones, CB, Texas

William Jones fits the mold of a CB for Kansas State - athletic, small (5'9", 170lbs), and fast.

The Mansfield Summit HS (Arlington, TX) prospect signed with Kansas State in December after initially committing to California earlier in the month. Coach Klieman seemed to lock in the commitment late.

Many speculated that Jones would stay close to home, and compete at TCU. That proved not to be the case as the Horned Frogs ended up not being a finalist for the three star recruit. Boise State and Colorado State were also in on the young cornerback.

Jones was also a track star in college - medaling in three events at the Texas State meet. According to Gabe Brooks of 247Sports "-- Kansas State 2019 three-star cornerback signee William Jones ran the third leg for Mansfield Summit's Class 6A gold medal-winning 4x100 relay team (40.42). He also ran the second leg for Summit's 6A bronze medal-winning 4x200 relay (1:24.67). Individually, Jones ran a 21.15-second 200 to place fourth in Class 6A."

In Manhattan Jones will compete with five other incoming corner recruits in an effort to make an impact this year. I think Jones has the best chance to do so - his speed plus his ability to serve in the return game, with Zuber departing, gives him an edge.
