LSU Basketball Loses Fourth Player to NCAA Transfer Portal
LSU guard Justice Williams has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. The sophomore is now the fourth Tiger to enter the portal after Justice Hill, Kendal Coleman and Corneilous Williams entered this week as well.
Williams averaged 3.3 points and 1.5 assists during his second season with the Tigers as a rotational piece off the bench for Head Coach Matt McMahon’s group this year.
The former 4-star guard reclassified and skipped his senior year of high school ahead of the 2021-22 season where he played for Will Wade during his freshman campaign. After the coaching change and hiring of McMahon, Williams was just one of three players to stick around and stay in Baton Rouge.
A player with tremendous upside, who showed flashes of what he’s capable of this season, Williams couldn’t stick in the rotation for the Tigers where his minutes ultimately dropped off in SEC play.
This program now finds themselves retooling the roster once again after a challenging first season with McMahon at the helm. With players departing, and certainly a number of fresh faces expected to head to LSU, it’ll be a busy next few weeks for the Tigers with the transfer portal window closing on May 11.

I want people who want to be here, want people who want to be a part of something special because that's what we're gonna build here," McMahon said during his introductory press conference. "My favorite part of the job is not only seeing the best player they can be but the best man they can be. It's my responsibility to grow leaders here at LSU and that's what we're gonna work to do."
