Their games against Ole Miss and Alabama on the road won’t be easy, but DraftKings Sportsbook currently has the Tigers as -4.5 favorites against Ole Miss, -9.5 favorites against Texas A&M and +7 underdogs at Alabama. All in all, they should go 2-1 in those three games, and their opener against #8 Florida State currently has them as a -2.5 favorite.
Our LSU Tigers predictions begin with QB Jayden Daniels, who currently has the second shortest Heisman Trophy odds, only behind USC QB Caleb Williams. Daniels will command an offense with four returning offensive linemen, all four of the team's top four rushers from last year and WR Malik Nabers, who was the QB's leading target last year (1,017 receiving yards and 72 receptions).
However, head coach Brian Kelly also brought in multiple four-star wide receivers in Jalen Brown, Kyle Parker, Khai Prean and Shelton Sampson Jr. to give his QB even more weapons, and I anticipate at least one of them being a major part of this offense. Overall, the Tigers' offense is loaded and should finish as a top-25 unit in the country as they look to surpass the LSU Tigers win total.
The issues surrounding our LSU Tigers predictions begin on the defensive side of the ball, as they lost seven of their top 11 tacklers from 2022-23. However, 11 transfers are coming in to fill the defensive side of the ball, and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo, defensive end Sai’vion Jones, linebackers Harold Perkins Jr. and Greg Penn III and safeties Major Burns and Greg Brooks Jr. are Kelly's only returning starters that played a noticeable amount of time last season.

LSU begins its season with a neutral site rematch against Florida State in Orlando before they host FCS Grambling State in Week 2. If the Tigers can pick up a win against the Seminoles, they'll be in business for the rest of the season, and we think they can do just that.
Aside from their road contest at Alabama, the Tigers will likely be favored in every other contest in the 2023-24 season. The LSU Tigers' win total is correctly priced at 9.5, as they have nine games that should be definite wins, and then their games against FSU, Ole Miss and Alabama could come down to the wire.
However, the Rebels play in Tuscaloosa the week before hosting the Tigers, so we think they'll grab that victory. We also believe they will take care of Florida State, but we wouldn't be surprised if the Seminoles keep it close and possibly escape with a win. Overall, we decided to target a different betting market as part of our LSU Tigers predictions.
Our best bet related to the LSU Tigers' win total is for LSU to have more Regular Season Wins than Notre Dame (-185 at DraftKings). The Fighting Irish's three toughest games are at home against #3 Ohio State and #6 USC and a road contest in November at #9 Clemson. Those three matchups are much more difficult than the Tigers' toughest stretch, and even though the rest of their schedule is easier, we don't see LSU tripping up against an inferior SEC opponent.
