BREAKING: LSU Adds Commitment From 4-Star LB Kolaj Cobbins

Cobbins gives the Tigers another gifted weapon in their 2024 class, LSU heating up on the recruitment trail.

LSU was prepared for a huge recruiting weekend and they’re getting just that. Late Friday night, the Tigers picked up a commitment from four-star linebacker Kolaj Cobbins.

Cobbins, a Louisiana native, is a Top 5 player in the state, giving Brian Kelly’s program another in-state victory in the 2024 class.

Cobbins is commit No. 9 in the 2024 class after the Tigers also welcomed four-star cornerback Wallace Foster back in November.. For Kelly and the Tigers to continue their hot streak on the recruiting trail, as the trajectory of this program continues to trend positively, shows the long-term goals of this team.

The Destrehan product chose LSU over Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss, among others, adding to the incredible stretch on the recruiting trail this program has had.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has all the tools to compete in the SEC with the developmental skills this coaching staff attains. Kelly has been working to develop relationships early in the 2024 and 2025 cycles, clearly making an impression on Cobbins over a short period of time.

Cobbins uses his physicality well for his size. With quick feet and the strength to back it up, he’s a prospect who has a chance to fly up the rankings even more by the time it’s all said and done. A 4-star currently, look for the youngster to make an impression as he prepares for his senior year at Destrehan.

With Cobbins heading to Baton Rouge this weekend alongside a number of gifted priority 2024 targets, his presence gives this program a boost when it comes to recruiting his peers.

LSU now has nine spots filled in the 2024 cycle with their focus looking to continue adding dynamic athletes to the class. Look for the Tigers to heat up in a big way as the spring recruiting period unfolds.
