Report: LSU Senior Linebacker Michael Divinity no Longer with Team Due to "Personal Reasons"

LSU senior linebacker Michael Divinity is no longer with the program, Brody Miller of the Athletic reported Monday morning.
Miller reported that Divinity would be leaving the program due to "personal reasons" and that his nameplate has already been removed from his locker.
It's been a strange 2019 season for Divinity, who has missed three games this season due to "coaches decisions" and a latest incident, that Miller reports will likely end the senior's career at LSU.
The news couldn't come at a worse time for the No. 1 Tigers, who are six days away from the biggest game of the season against No. 2 Alabama. Divinity was seen as a leader of not only the defensive unit but of the team as a whole, racking up 23 tackles and three sacks in five games in 2019.
Coming into the season, Divinity was making the transition to inside linebacker, but was moved to his original position at outside linebacker with the ascension of Jacob Phillips and Patrick Queen on the inside.
In Divinity's absence, more reps could open up for Andre Anthony and Ray Thornton, though it's expected that sophomore K'Lavon Chaisson will hold down the fort for the most part.
An LSU spokesperson confirmed to LSU Sports Illustrated that coach Ed Orgeron will address the news at his 12:30 p.m. press conference Monday.
Story will be updated with more details at a later time.
