June Recruiting Recap: A Look Into Who LSU Gained Commitments From
Brian Kelly and Co. are fresh off of a monster month on the recruiting trail after reeling in six big-time prospects. After a trio of Louisiana natives, the No. 4 overall player in Tennessee, a top offensive lineman from the East Coast and a coveted JUCO tight end pledged to LSU last month, the Tigers are rolling in recruiting.
But it hasn’t stopped there. This program has set the table for a big-time July with more announcements coming sooner rather than later.
It’s been a summer of commitments for the Tigers, but last month quickly became an important one in rebuilding this roster for the long haul.
A look into who LSU gained commitments from in June:
Joel Rogers - 2024 Safety
The No. 8 overall player in Louisiana, Brian Kelly and his program added a do-it-all athlete to their 2024 class last month.
Rogers is one of the more gifted prospects in the state. A guy who’s played both sides of the ball his entire high school career, he’s projected to pan out as a safety at the next level to carry on the “DBU” tradition in Death Valley.
At 6-foot, 185-pounds, Rogers attains the adequate size and strength of a safety at the next level. With another year in high school, the sky's the limit for the dynamic defensive back.
Rogers’ size allows him to fit the prototypical safety mold. With sideline-to-sideline speed, he moves across the field shot out of a cannon, and it’s only become more impressive over the last 12 months.
Kylan Billiot - 2024 Wide Receiver
Billiot, who received an offer from LSU in early June after dominating in their 7v7 camp, wasted no time in committing to the Tigers just days later.
After getting a scholarship from his “dream school,” the three-star wide receiver knew where he wanted to be. Now, he’s gone public with the decision.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has been on a steady rise during high school. He put his name on the map during his junior campaign and has had LSU monitoring his growth ever since. After a monster showing during LSU's camp, this program pulled the trigger immediately after dishing out an offer.
A raw, athletic wideout who’s beginning to see his ranking rise at a rapid pace, Billiot has proven he has next in Baton Rouge.

Ondre Evans - 2024 Cornerback
The Tennessee native has been a hot name on the recruiting scene as of late, earning offers from Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, among others. After making his way to Baton Rouge last month for LSU’s Elite Camp, Evans was a standout with the Tigers putting their foot on the gas to secure a commitment from the shutdown corner.
The trip to campus gave the electrifying prospect the opportunity to meet with Brian Kelly, other 2024 targets and soak in the culture being developed at LSU.
Evans is the No. 4 overall player in the state of Tennessee with Brian Kelly and his staff stealing a major SEC target once again. With the Volunteers in constant contact with Evans, the hometown star could have stayed home, but Kelly and Co. worked their magic once again.
The 6-foot, 185-pounder has been a fast-rising prospect in the 2024 class. With his body beginning to fill out, he’s seen it take his game to a new level. After a standout junior campaign, Evans has all the intangibles of breaking out in his senior season before heading to Baton Rouge.
Michael Turner - 2024 Wide Receiver
The New Orleans native is a high-upside prospect who has flown up the recruiting rankings due to his sheer speed, and now, Turner adds another element to LSU’s 2024 class.
During last months LSU Elite Camp, the speedster ran a 4.29 40-yard dash, immediately impressing wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has been a fast-rising prospect in the 2024 class. With his body beginning to fill out, he’s seen it take his game to a new level. After a standout junior campaign, Turner has all the intangibles of breaking out in his senior season before heading to Baton Rouge.
Ethan Calloway - 2024 Offensive Lineman
At 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, Calloway is as physically impressive as they get at the high school level, and major programs put their foot on the gas for the fast-rising lineman.
A top offensive tackle in America, Calloway took the country by storm after a big-time junior campaign.
Calloway, the top offensive lineman in North Carolina, gives LSU another piece to their line moving forward. With Brad Davis coaching his guys up and continuing to hit the recruiting trail with force, we could see this position group take strides in the right direction sooner rather than later.
Connor Gilbreath - JUCO TE - Butte College (Calif.)
Gilbreath is about as versatile as they come at the JUCO level. The dynamic tight end can also play offensive tackle if need be and his impressive skill set has Power Five programs salivating at what could be, including LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly.
Kelly and his staff offered Gilbreath in May as his recruiting process continued to blossom. He earned offers from Colorado, Miami, Washington, Mississippi State and Missouri, among others, before committing to the Tigers after his lone season in California.
Gilbreath has been used primarily as a tight end but has the chance to be an offensive tackle as time goes on. With the Tigers returning Mason Taylor as the lone tight end with experience, Gilbreath could be a much needed piece moving forward. The Tigers signed three tight ends in their 2023 class, but bringing in Gilbreath who can be used as a blocker could give this program an extra boost.
The 6-foot-6, 268-pounder went through spring ball with Butte College, but has bigger plans after revealing his decision. A full qualifier, he will he will suit up in the purple and gold in 2023.
