LSU is just three days away from their season opener against the Florida State Seminoles as the 2023 season vasty approaches and the Tigers will certainly be put to the test against a Top 10 foe.

In a rematch of last year's season opener in New Orleans, LSU will look to get revenge against the Seminoles, but Florida State has retooled its roster in a big way.

Coach Mike Norvell attacked the NCAA Transfer Portal, reeling in several immediate impact players, and the Tigers will certainly game plan for the newcomers.

Here's a better look into the enemy and the fresh faces Florida State secured:

Keon Coleman - Wide Receiver - Michigan State Transfer

Coleman, a Louisiana native who had interest from the Tigers upon entering the portal, will now face his hometown team Week 1 in Orlando, Fla. in the season opener. The Michigan State standout had a number of potential suitors, but ultimately chose Florida State over Ole Miss when it was all said and done.

The decision to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal came as a surprise to many. The electrifying wideout was set to be the Spartans WR1 this season, but electing to take his talents elsewhere, he entered the portal with over 50 programs reaching out.

A Louisiana guy, the Tigers made an initial push for the elite athlete, but ultimately a search for top wide receiver duties and immediate playing time had him look elsewhere.

After a productive 2022 season with the Sparty’s, Coleman has seen his game takeoff ahead of this season. Coleman led the Spartans in receptions (58), receiving yards (798) and receiving touchdowns (7) in 2022.

The 6-foot-4 wide receiver has multiple years of eligibility remaining, which made him that much more of an intriguing portal target for multiple programs. Schools have expressed how important it is to reel in guys who can make an impact for the long haul, and for Coleman, he fit the criteria like a glove.

Braden Fiske - Defensive Tackle - Western Michigan Transfer

Fiske has played five years of college football, but remains with one final year of eligibility. He finished the 2022 season with 58 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, seven quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.

For his career, he’s tallied 148 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks across his time in college.

Fiske has been a dominant force for the Seminoles during offseason work and will be a true challenge for the Tigers on Sunday.

LSU recruited Fiske once he entered the portal before the Western Michigan transfer ultimately selected the Seminoles.

Fentrell Cypress - Cornerback - Virginia Transfer

"Cypress, a first-team All-ACC performer according to Pro Football Focus last season at Virginia, was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List and voted to the Preseason All-ACC team last week. He was rated as the No. 2 transfer portal prospect nationally by On3 and No. 4 overall by 247Sports after appearing in 18 games with 14 starts during four seasons for the Cavaliers, totaling 57 tackles, 0.5 sack, one interception, 14 pass breakups and one fumble recovery.

The Rock Hill, South Carolina, native led the country with an average of 1.6 pass breakups per game in 2022, and his 14 total pass breakups were tops in the ACC and ninth nationally.

He started all nine games he played last season and added 39 tackles and one fumble recovery to his pass breakups total. He started all six games he played in 2021, registering 16 tackles, including 0.5 sack, and one interception that he returned 66 yards for a touchdown."
