The No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class took in Tiger Stadium during his return trip to Death Valley, accompanied by several top players in America.
Underwood has taken his fair share of visits recently with LSU emerging as a serious candidate in his recruitment.
Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan has been pushing for Underwood's services as the two develop a close relationship. It's clear the plan the Tigers have in place with the future of their signal-callers.
With Jayden Daniels returning for his final season in Baton Rouge and Garrett Nussmeier looking to be the guy to follow in his footsteps, it’s obvious the plans Kelly has when it comes to recruiting 2025 quarterbacks, getting it started already.

But it will be a process in order to get their next signal-caller locked in. The No. 1 option is Underwood. He’s shined throughout high school and is in the midst of a big-time junior campaign with several programs in his ear.
LSU and Michigan have separated themselves from the pack, but there’s a new contender emerging: Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffs.
Sanders and Co. hosted Underwood for a visit to Boulder last month when Colorado took on Colorado State in their in-state rivalry matchup. With significant national attention surrounding the matchup, it became no secret why Underwood took the trip.
It became a monstrous development in the battle for Underwood’s services. With a tentative commitment date set for Jan. 6, the race for the top signal-caller in America got that much more challenging for Brian Kelly and the Tigers.
The No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 class, it’s for a good reason. The youngster has proven just how dominant he can be in the high school game after lighting it up during both his freshman and sophomore campaigns.
As a freshman, Underwood threw for 2,888 yards, 39 TDs, and four INTs, adding six rushing TDs. In addition to a dominant stat sheet, he also led Belleville to a 13-1 record and the Michigan Division I state championship. Sophomore year? Continued growth.
The Tigers are one of 30+ schools to offer Underwood as his recruitment skyrockets during his junior campaign. With a developed frame, standing at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds Underwood is already looking physically prepared for the next level.
Now, he's taken another trip to Baton Rouge for a game day experience with LSU getting their crack at the No. 1 player in America.
