LSU Adds Commitment From Fast-Rising Louisiana WR Kylan Billiot

Tigers are red hot on the recruiting trail, secure a pledge from one of the state's 2024 top wideouts.

LSU is rolling on the recruiting trail after landing their second commitment in three days. On Wednesday, Louisiana native Kylan Billiot pledged to Brian Kelly and his program, giving the Tigers another monster weapon for the future.

Billiot, who received an offer from LSU on Saturday after dominating in their 7v7 camp, wasted no time in committing to the Tigers.

After getting a scholarship from his “dream school,” the three-star wide receiver knew where he wanted to be. Now, he’s gone public with the decision.

The trip to campus last weekend gave the electrifying prospect the opportunity to meet with wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton, quarterback’s coach Joe Sloan, other 2024 targets and soak in the culture being developed at LSU.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has been on a steady rise during high school. He put his name on the map during his junior campaign and has had LSU monitoring his growth ever since.

After a monster showing on Saturday, this program pulled the trigger immediately after dishing out an offer.

Billiot chose the Tigers over a handful of other programs including Tulane, Memphis and Louisiana, among others. He’s a late bloomer who was a big-time basketball player before making the move to football.

A raw, athletic wideout who’s beginning to see his ranking rise at a rapid pace, Billiot has proven he has next in Baton Rouge.

LSU has an impressive track record of developing Louisiana wide receivers. Can Billiot be up next? All signs point to the answer being yes.

Billiot joins West Feliciana (La.) safety Joel Rogers as the second player to commit to Brian Kelly’s program in the last 48 hours.

The Tigers now have 17 commitments in their 2024 cycle with LSU expected to reel in several more players sooner rather than later.

Brian Kelly’s Recruiting Message:

“We’re going to identify the best prospects throughout the country and you’ll see that in this signing class. We’ll have players from the northeast, the midwest, the west coast. But our base will be Louisiana and the south,” Kelly said. “When you’re LSU and you have a brand that’s so recognizable, you can’t have blinders on either. Our scope and vision is national but it’s not like we’re pulling four guys out of every state. We’re gonna have a heavy influence in the state of Louisiana, like we should.”

“I think within a calendar year we could be looking to turn over 70 scholarships,” Kelly said. “I certainly don’t think it’s going to be in the mid to high 30s [as the norm]. I think that’s outside the lines. I do believe the high 20s is going to be the norm. I remember years where it was 18, I think those days are over.”
