LSU tight end commit Tayvion Galloway already bleeds purple and gold. After announcing his pledge to Brian Kelly and the Tigers last summer, the Ohio native has expressed his love for Baton Rouge like no other.

After a productive junior campaign with his Chillicothe (Ohio) squad, the clock is ticking until Galloway makes his way to Death Valley with anticipation that he enrolls in January.

The 2024 4-star tight end has asserted himself as one of the top talents in not only the state of Ohio, but in the country, as he makes his way up the rankings.

Galloway discussed his commitment to LSU, Brian Kelly’s influence and much more:

Loyalty to LSU, Recruitment Update

One of Galloway’s most important characteristics is his loyalty. When it comes to his commitment to LSU, he’s locked in and ready to make his way to Baton Rouge to suit up for Brian Kelly.

But in the meantime, he’ll take a quick trip to Death Valley later this month for a weekend unofficial visit to talk shop with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, hit some baseball games and of course, discuss his future with Coach Kelly.

“March 30th-April 2nd I plan on visiting LSU and getting back on their campus, watch some baseball games and talk football with both Coach Denbrock and Coach Kelly,” Galloway said.

Despite remaining locked in with the Tigers, it hasn’t slowed down other programs from reaching out to the elite tight end. He’s been hearing from schools on a routine basis but his commitment to LSU hasn’t wavered.

“I don’t have any other visits planned to other schools. My commitment to LSU is 1000% solid, it hasn’t been shaky to me at all with my recruitment," Galloway said. "Some schools that have been hitting me up are Miami, West Virginia, Purdue, Auburn and other schools have been coming at me pretty heavy.”

2024 Recruiting Class, New Additions

Galloway was one of the first players to commit to LSU in their 2024 class, and ever since that very moment, we’ve seen the cycle explode to a Top 5 class. The soon to be Tiger knows how gifted his future teammates are but detailed how this class isn’t slowing down any time soon. It's title or bust aspirations.

“It’s good to see people are buying into the BK Effect. Nothing is slowing down for us. It’s not just hype for us, we’re trying to win a national title,” Galloway said.

LSU currently has 11 players committed in their 2024 class and Galloway feels each brings their own dynamic, but as the cycle ramps up, he has his eyes on a few other guys who he feels can make a difference in Death Valley.

“We’re going real hard after Sterling Dixon. He’s committed right now to Alabama. We’ve been going after guys like Bubba Hampton, Tylen Singleton and Koby Young. That’s just to name a few," Galloway said. "We’re trying to build the best class, even if it isn’t just the 2024 class, I’m trying to bring guys to LSU who can benefit to us winning a national title.”

Why Baton Rouge and LSU?

The culture is changing in Baton Rouge. The athletic department is booming with success and Galloway wants to be a part of that. He wants to contribute to a national title winning squad. But the overall atmosphere is what attracted him most.

“I’m a big foodie so I love that part. And just the hospitality that everybody has, everybody seems so loving and caring in the area. It just feels like a home, family vibe. Just everywhere around that area from the coaching staff to the fans," Galloway said.

Another piece: The relationship with Coach Denbrock. A coach that has recruited Galloway from the very beginning, dating back to his time on the Cincinnati coaching staff, he’s been with the 4-star tight end for quite awhile.

“That’s really my guy. I feel that’s the most genuine coach I have met through this recruitment process. I feel he’s been the one that’s kept it real with me… He’s not just throwing me the recruitment pitch. I can tell he really cares about me more than football,” Galloway said.

Relationship With His Future Quarterback

LSU’s 2024 recruiting class has their signal-caller in Colin Hurley. A player who already bleeds purple and gold like Galloway, Hurley has shown his passion for the LSU fan base on social media.

The two have a relationship that goes beyond football whether it’s chopping it up on the phone or talking about life, it’s important to develop a connection.

“I’m always chatting it up with Colin because I know that having that relationship with my quarterback, the guy who will be behind our offense, I have to have a real good connection with him,” Galloway said. “He’s a monster. He’s ahead of his years and I’m just really glad he’s the quarterback of our 2024 class.”
