LSU Football: OL Joseph Cryer Flips Commitment From Ole Miss to LSU

Cryer received an offer from his "dream school" on Wednesday, wastes no time committing to LSU.

When LSU offered Natchitoches Central (La.) offensive lineman Joseph Cryer on Wednesday, the Tigers immediately took charge of his recruitment. The Ole Miss commit made his way to Baton Rouge on Friday before decommitting from the Rebels on Sunday.

Fast forward to Monday and Cryer has flipped his commitment to LSU after earning an offer from his “dream school” as the Tigers land another key Louisiana prospect.

Cryer, one of the top offensive linemen in-state, gives Brian Kelly and Co. another weapon to further develop upon his arrival to Baton Rouge.

The Tigers continue stacking big guys up front after landing a pledge from Texas native Ory Williams on Sunday as well. Along with Williams, LSU has received verbal commitments from Khayree Lee and Ethan Calloway.

Offensive line coach Brad Davis now has four pieces to work with in the 2024 class with his sights set on more as August nears.

For now, Cryer brings a key piece to LSU’s interior offensive line. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder attains adequate size at the SEC level with his technique beginning to hit its stride ahead of a big-time senior campaign.

Cryer burst onto the scene during his junior season and it’s been a steady rise ever since after stacking offers from Ole Miss, Penn State, Oklahoma State and Michigan State, among others.

The fast-rising prospect pledged to the Rebels in June before LSU entered his recruitment in a big way during July. Now, he’s a Tiger after backing off of his Ole Miss commitment and selecting Brian Kelly’s program.

LSU is in the midst of a heater on the recruiting trail with several targets trending the Tigers way after a busy summer of visits.
