LSU Football: Priority QB Target Visiting Deion Sanders, Colorado

In this story:
Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers continue circling the 2025 class as a cycle that can take this program to the next level at the quarterback position.
They've hosted two of the top signal-callers in America for visits to Baton Rouge in Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in the class, and George MacIntyre.
The gifted quarterbacks continue stacking offers, but the Tigers are making sure to get in on their recruitment as early as possible in order to develop relationships. It’s Kelly’s favorite part of the process and it’s clear his intentions here.
With Jayden Daniels returning for his final season in Baton Rouge and Garrett Nussmeier looking to be the guy to follow in his footsteps, it’s obvious the plans Kelly has when it comes to recruiting 2025 quarterbacks, getting it started already.
But it will be a process in order to get their next signal-caller locked in.
The No. 1 option is Bryce Underwood, the top overall player in the 2025 class. He’s shined throughout high school, and in the midst of a big-time junior campaign, several programs are in his ear.
LSU and Michigan have separated themselves from the pack, but there’s a new contender emerging: Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffs.
Sanders and Co. will host Underwood for a visit to Boulder this weekend when Colorado takes on Colorado State in their in-state rivalry matchup, 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong reports. With significant national attention surrounding the matchup, it’s no secret why Underwood will take the trip.
It’s a monstrous development in the battle for Underwood’s services. With a tentative commitment date set for Jan. 6, the race for the top signal-caller in America just got that much more challenging for Brian Kelly and the Tigers.

The No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 class, it’s for a good reason. The youngster has proven just how dominant he can be in the high school game after lighting it up during both his freshman and sophomore campaigns.
As a freshman, Underwood threw for 2,888 yards, 39 TDs, and four INTs, adding six rushing TDs. In addition to a dominant stat sheet, he also led Belleville to a 13-1 record and the Michigan Division I state championship. Sophomore year? Continued growth.
The Tigers are one of 30+ schools to offer Underwood as his recruitment skyrockets during his junior campaign. With a developed frame, standing at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds Underwood is already looking physically prepared for the next level.
“He’s getting a lot of phone calls, a lot of text messages over the phone and in the DMs, along with everything else going on because he’s such a highly touted athlete,” his quarterback trainer, Donovan Dooley, told On3's The Wolverine.
“The biggest thing for him is, again, keeping the main thing, the main thing, while trusting his support staff, family, mom, dad and the coaches, while just weighing out the pros and cons. For Bryce, it’s coming down the wire of where he wants to go, so we’ll see where he ends up going.”
