Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers continue trending in the right direction after securing a commitment from 4-star Houston (Tex.) wide receiver Jelani Watkins.

The speedster will take his talents to Baton Rouge after the Tigers made a nonstop push for the dynamic wideout who will only add to the embarrassment of offensive riches LSU has in its arsenal for the foreseeable future.

Watkins selected the Tigers over Texas A&M as Kelly dips into Texas once again to secure an important pledge.

For the 4-star receiver, he won’t only suit up for the Tigers in Death Valley, but he’ll also lace up his cleats on the track.

A lightning bolt in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 4x1 relay, Watkins will also join LSU’s track and field team as a two-sport athlete.

Simply put, the Tigers are getting elite speed for the long haul.

Watkins is pledge No. 23 in the 2024 class after the Tigers also welcomed offensive linemen Ory Williams and Joseph Cryer this week as well. That’s now 5 total commitments LSU has secured in 14 days.

On the final weekend of July, Watkins took two visits: LSU and Texas A&M.

After sitting down with his family for a few days and making a decision, the move to Baton Rouge became one Watkins couldn’t pass up on.

Now, LSU reels in one of the fastest players in the 2024 cycle which boosts their class ranking to No. 10 overall, per On3Sports.

The Tigers are in the midst of a heater, and with both Colin Simmons and Caden Durham revealing their college commitments as well next week, LSU could receive more good news sooner rather than later if all goes accordingly.
